Image
Gurgaon - The Millennium City It is not so easy these days to get the wild life in Gurgaon as I use to see 15 years back when I was kid and use to see Jungle around me. Gurgaon is a city of lights and steel now. However, I still managed to get some wild life and jungle shots.  Still a hideout for some species  The flora of the city surviving at its last span

The Great Banyan Tree This Banyan tree you see below is approximately 500 yrs old or more it is said by locals that this tree has witnessed many battles since the time of King Sher Shah Suri. This tree in the picture is not the original trunk but the branch of the main trunk which has taken the shape and role of main trunk now, as the main trunk got destroyed due to time and its age.  I wonder if this is the branch of the main tree how would have the main tree looked like originally.  Below is the picture of hand made coal by villagers. This is made up of coal dust and pure mud paste taken from the depth of the ponds in the village. This is the fuel for cooking food.   The Bamboo Trees Child's play going on! This dog is unbelievable. He was quite calm but as soon as he saw the camera this is how he started acting and gave me poses for good 10 minutes. Born actor I believe.

Visit To West Bengal - Rice in brown hull - Uchalan, District Burdwan

Cultivation and Harvesting Methods of growing differ greatly in different localities, but in most Asian countries the traditional hand methods of cultivating and harvesting rice are still practiced. The fields are prepared by plowing (typically with simple plows drawn by water buffalo), fertilizing (usually with dung or sewage), and smoothing (by dragging a log over them). The seedlings are started in seedling beds and, after 30 to 50 days, are transplanted by hand to the fields, which have been flooded by rain or river water. During the growing season, irrigation is maintained by dike-controlled canals or by hand watering. The fields are allowed to drain before cutting. Rice when it is still covered by the brown hull is known as paddy; rice fields are also called paddy fields or rice paddies. Before marketing, the rice is threshed to loosen the hulls—mainly by flailing, treading, or working in a mortar—and winnowed free of chaff by tossing it in the air

Visit To West Bengal - Houses in village Uchalan, District Burdwan

Magical Houses Earth based houses are naturally insulated, so they will be cool in summers and warm in winters. They are extremely strong if constructed correctly, and proponents of earth houses claim they are resistant to earthquakes. Other advocates of earth houses claim that are very healthy with no irritant chemicals incorporated within the mixture to cause any allergies Beautiful scene from one of the evening walks I did in this Village!
