British World War Cemetery
British World War Cemetery or the Memorial is one of the finest and well maintained monuments by Commonwealth War Graves Commission in Pune and in India that reminds us of the Imperial Past and also the Legacy of the Two Great Wars fought. Kirkee war Cemetery was created to receive Second World War graves from the western and central parts of India where their permanent maintenance could not be assured. The cemetery contains 1,668 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War. The KIRKEE MEMORIAL stands within the cemetery and commemorates more than 1,800 servicemen who died in India during the First World War, who were buried in civil and cantonment cemeteries in India and Pakistan where their graves could no longer be properly maintained. This total includes the names of 639 servicemen whose remains were brought from Bombay (Sewri) Cemetery for re-interment here in 1960. Do not take it as justification mam. After driving few hundred kilometers on bike just didnt get to know when did this camera shook. After looking in the computer I caught it myself.

I stopped and took this snap but yes I was too much exhausted till here as I was driving directly from Delhi till here no stop.......few minor breaks not counted ;-)
